Watercolor paintings

I think this is my first watercolor illustration for work-related stuff. I never brought my watercolor in the before because.. i don't know why. Anyway, these drawings are for a not-so-small article about women making money with home business.

There are laws that regulate home business in Oman, so they need to register it in the Ministry to avoid trouble!

 

Before this thing got printed, they made me change the $ sign to OR (Omani rial). Well, it makes sense but initially i thought of it already and figured that the dollar sign has always been the standard sign for moolahs. :D

No tablet week

Last week the graphics team in the office were given a challenge: working without the Wacom tablet! I swallowed a lump of surprise when i heard it from our design director. The whole idea was to challenge our skills and resourcefulness while being deprived from our comfort zones. Yes, the tablet pen has already become a part of our fingers and without it, i personally felt impaired!

So, when this spread came i thought i'd go back to using my old Staedler Graphic 3000 Duo. I was faster and still comfortable using it. But, it occurred to me that i am not challenging myself. So i decided to use fine line pens and make more detailed work without having to render them digitally with realistic colors. And waaallllah! :)

Book of Portraits

It's been a while since i did a self portrait, this is a recent one on a Derwent black book. For the longest time since i had this book, i was toying with the idea of making it an album for my printed film photos  OR make this a slambook of all the artworks i found online-- printed and pasted in all the pages. But i settled for this. This will be a book of portraits per se.

 Acrylic paint has been my recent choice of medium next to watercolor. Oil paints has been long forgotten as  an option, because i always find it messy. Yes excuses! :D
