YAY! My first illustrated alphabets from A-Z! The story that goes with this is about first-aid guide for parents. The aim was to make it fun and child-friendly.

And here's me spelling my name. 

Below are just some random three-letter words (i think some doesn't exist at all). hehehe

Glorious Oman Cover

Glorious Oman is an annual book published by Times of Oman in commemoration for the Rennaisance day. It's like an annual report of the for the country, featuring all its acheivements over the year and the plans and goals for the next year.

This year, i had the opportunity to design the cover. This year, the book is leaning on the technological acheivements and plans for the country. What initially came to mind is something shining shimmering futuristic-3d kind of effect. But along the way, we agreed to make it more sophisticated, elegant with a modern touch.

This is the first study that i made. Some random elements of swirls and curves based on all the Arabic calligraphy on my crash course in Google and and print outs.

A few options for the cover that is actual calligraphy. But it looks dreadful now that im looking at it. hehe

War On Regulation

This article was published last june 1 and was posted as one of the Best Pages of the Week in the paper. even before i finished this illustration, the idea i came up for the story already made me proud of myself. it is important that i come up with something really simple yet hit the topic big time.

the article is still related with the recession and the euro hullaballo. it's always safe to take thing literally yet produce it in a symbolic way. Srimani, the designer of the page came up with the idea on running the text inside the helmet and the smoke that came out from the gun. it was just perfect. the day before this was published, my design director told us that this will be the best page for paper the next day. oh well i just blushed! :D
