Paok Pattern Contest

Cebu art scene has been making a buzz since last year. And before this year will end, it'ill never be complete without Paok making a real buzz. I don't wanna talk about this guy, he's just too famous and successful for words. It's making me uncomfortable. Google him instead. hahahaa

I'll talk about his contribution to the society, to the art community for that matter. This is a genuine gesture - coming up with a contest, The Pattern Design.

Love Daze

What did you do when you were under that spell? When everything was as sweet as candy, as high as the sky and as endless as the sea? When nothing was as bitter as ampalaya or as sour as datu puti, how was that?

You're probably just smiling right now because it felt forever and stupid. But so real.

Dancing With A Ghost

And now the lyrics is out. I have yet to hear the whole song, but i will have to wait on the opening day of my exhibit. For now, i'm good with the lyrics. It is exactly how i envisioned the artwork. The lyrics gave justice to my artwork. I love it.

(music and lyrics by Jude Gitamondoc, September 24, 2009)

You belong to me
In the empty halls of my mind
In a place where no space or time exists
There you are mine...

Long before the party began
You looked my way and you took my hand
You held me strong and we started to dance
To a song only we could hear
Only we could know...

You're my guest and I'm your host
In my head, I'm dancing with a ghost

Long after all the bills have been paid
Long after all the songs have been played
You held me close and our two bodies swayed
To a beat only we could share
Only we could know...

You belong to me
In the empty halls of my mind
Long after the crowd has left me behind
Here I am, dancing still...

While the voices in my head propose a toast
To the fool who's dancing with a ghost
Here I am, I'm dancing with a ghost.

Jude, it helped that you got depressed with the song. That's the whole idea. hehehe

Holding On

Sketch, pencil on paper

Yes, that is the whole idea of this piece. At one point in our lives we lived and tried to stay in that dead moment in our life. Trying to hold on.

Here's a peek on Dancing With A Ghost. Jude Gitamondoc will finish this piece with his song. With the master's composition, i'm sure this will be a unique collaboration.

Final render on photoshop. This is just one part of the whole image. Don't wanna spoil the fun!

Goodnight. My sore has healed.

Funeral For A Past

I had this really intriguing dream 2 or 3 days ago. My ex and i were carrying a black casket and we wanted to bring it to a church then burry it after. The casket fits a body of a child. A boy, actually. His face flashed into me when we kind of tripped along the way. I got worried of the dead boy .

The whole picture didn't look like a funeral to me since we were the only ones who were there. It did not even have that mourning feel. We both seemed to be, i dunno, not excited but somehow it seemed like we needed to do it for some reason.
I will explore on this in my artworks. I wanted to make a peice out of it. It seemed like its saying something about our relationship. My ex and i are ok now and back to our normal talking-friends mode. We're burying our past and moving on fast. :)

Styling Jesheila

I love wearing makeup. I'm an addict to waering them everyday. It's only only just recently that people would ask me to put makeup on them. Some photographer friends would ask for my help. Of course i would gladly do it!

One recent lovely face i painted makeup on is Jesheila Fat. She had a pictorial with Alexa Tan. Well, she's already pretty and needs no too much makeup. But i somehow did justice on her pretty face and hair behind Alexa's lens.

More sexy Jesheila here and sexy bedroom scene here.
All photos by Alexa Tan.

A little show of progress on what's keeping me busy and anxious at the same time these days. It's still a long way to go but im happy about the outcome little by little. :)

Last night a collaboration has been made with a new friend of mine. A song writer friend will make a song from one of my artwork. I showed him a very rough sketch that i made. I think he found the title catchy that he decided to choose that artwork for a new song. Dancing With A Ghost, is the title. Migedd! I can't contain my excitement already!

This is going to be the first! Someone will make a song out of my artwork! weeeeeee!!!

Ka-exciting ani gheeeennnggggg!!!!!! Thanks Jude! Dili jud ka loser, ako ra lage! :D

Asian Poker

I got an email yesterday from an iStock member who downloaded my illustration- evening poker chick. He wanted to ask for a customized illustration with the same concept only that the girl is asian. No biggie! hehehehe We got a good deal and i will give it to him within the week.

Anyhoo, he still downloaded and used my illustration though. Above is the Evening poker chick.

Here is an example of "you can't please everyone"artwork. I was made to believe that i was on the right track. Suddenly a change of mind, this is not good enough. I would've wanted to include the rest on the details on this poster but, out of respect i will skip that one. I thought this was really awesome especially with the texts and other colors that wa in it. I'll make use of this artwork somewhere somehow.. gotta drop that project though! :)

Haaayyy... The details, just made me realized how time and effort i spent on this work. Scrapped!
